Core Funding for Emerging Groups
A fully-flexible core grant to jumpstart the work of emerging feminist groups and support them through their establishment phase and early years.
We support groups advancing the rights and wellbeing of women and LBTQ+ communities, with an emphasis on new concepts and ideas that challenge and transform the current discourse on the feminist movement.
We work with radical trust and solidarity: feminist groups are best positioned to determine their own priorities and to decide how to spend their funding.
Project Funds
Our Project Funds programme supports established feminist groups or collectives seeking to develop a new programme or start a new activity within their group, through a small grant.
Established groups across the MENA region are constantly engaging with changing political contexts and community needs. This programme supports them, financially and technically, as they respond to these changes and mindfully expand their work.
We encourage groups to broaden the scope of their work and to adopt new practices and mechanisms that further what they already do.
Knowledge Production Funds
The Knowledge Production fund supports projects on feminism and gender issues by on-the-ground feminist activists and engaged scholars in the MENA region, through a grant that covers knowledge creation and dissemination costs.
Groups and scholars may write or translate papers and books into Arabic, convene feminist-themed meetings, publish educational material (books, magazines, comics and more), create podcasts, produce photo essays, or use any other creative media, experimenting with diverse tools as they create spaces for learning and knowledge exchange.
Works produced by grantees are openly shared with the public under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license and remain the ownership of their creators.
Emergency Response Grant
An emergency response grant offering rapid, flexible support to feminist groups facing urgent, short-term needs, such as sudden threats to safety, political crises, or unforeseen circumstances that put their work or members at risk.
We aim to respond quickly and with care, using a simplified process so that groups in critical situations can access funds when they need them most.
Funds can cover urgent costs including relocation, digital and physical security, legal support, and other immediate needs.
Accompaniment
Grantee-partners across our four grantmaking programmes are offered opportunities for growth, learning and networking through peer-to-peer support and experts in relevant areas.
We take a holistic approach to accompanying feminist groups, covering various areas of expertise to equip grantees with all the skills they need to prosper.
Available to current grantee-partners across all four funds.
- 1
Managerial skills
Developing core capacities such as proposal writing, financial management and strategic planning.
- 2
Skill strengthening
Building expertise in feminist digital security, knowledge production and advocacy, among others.
- 3
Networking & knowledge sharing
Convenings, trainings, conferences, webinars and workshops exploring various aspects of grantees' work.
- 4
Additional financial support
Where mentorship needs require travel, training or other expenses, a sum is added on top of the original grant to cover the costs.
